Guided Fly Fishing Trips on Utah's Provo River

Rainbow Trout - fly rod
Provo River in Provo Canyon fly fishing

Set in the shadow of majestic Mount Timpanogos, the Provo River is truly one of America's fly fishing gems. Prolific brown trout and rainbow trout populations continue to make the Provo River one of the West’s top ten fly fishing destinations. This blue ribbon fishery is made up of one freestone and two tailwater sections, offering anglers a vast variety of great flyfishing water. An abundance of hatching insects and a healthy population of mid-summer terrestrials make the Provo an excellent dry fly fishery.

In the absence of surface activity, fast pocket water and deep pools also provide holding water for large trout that can be reached with various nymphing techniques and streamers. Although there are roughly three to five thousand fish per mile, they are well educated and will often present a challenge to the most experienced anglers. The Provo River is truly a beautiful place to escape the crowded confines of the city and learn more about what this incredible area has to offer. The Provo River is conveniently accessed via a short drive from Salt Lake City, Park City, Heber City, or Provo, Utah. Whether you are a Utah native, here on business, or just a trout bum passing through, our patient,  first-class guides will put you onto the best spots
